Memorial Day Weekend

We had a great time in Paris! Saturday we went to cousin Gay's house for some cousin time, fishing, jumping, and catching up. Gay, you must send pictures. It was Parker's first time to fish, and we have started him off with high hopes. He caught 4 fish in 5 minutes! You see, they feed their fish so when we put the pole in the water you had to be fast to hook them...hundreds eating off of the hook! Now when we go fishing I think Parker will be bored.

Sunday we had our mini high school reunion. Brain, Justin, Kelly, Elisha, and Mindy all from the class of 94 with spouses and kids in tow met at Mindy's new fabulouso home. We cooked out, watched the Mav's game, and got caught up on each other's lives. 2 of my former classmates have lived across sees in England and Ireland. Now we live in Oklahoma City, Paris (2), Forney, Keller, and Houston. Total offspring: 8 and that number should change to 9 in the near future, with the Lester addition. I hope we all can get together once a year.

I hope everyone had a safe Memorial Day holiday.

Thursday Thirteen

Thursday Thirteen Updates
1. Emaline went to the specialist yesterday and we have decided (for now) to telescope the bladder to see where the blood is still coming from. It has been a week since our last one, but we have also been on medicine. Please pray for her and the doctors and the parents. The doctor is suppose to call today to schedule the procedure.

2. I picked Taylor from the beginning! I liked him all the way from Vegas baby! Did you know that he was not in the bottom all season. Once Chris was out I was so excited.

3. Emaline has a tooth! Yes, she is only 4 months and one has broken through and another is almost there. It is amazing to me that she hasn't been irritable. It makes me think that she could be in discomfort from #1.

4. I am so excited to get together with my high school friends soon. It is a minireunion of sorts. Mindy, Elisha, Kelly, Justin, Brian, and me and all of our families. I haven't seen Kelly in about 4 years. Mindy just built a new house and we are meeting there. I hear Brian has a video of our last day of high school to show. Yikes.

5. Myspace.com is interesting. I know you have probably heard about it on the news. I started with a simple page, and now I have a background, even music. I am not real sure it's purpose, I have found some old friends and learned some things I care not remember. My high school has this bulletin board thing and one of the topics was best high school memory. Number 1, I don't know these guys anyway, but number 2,the things these people remember...I have never heard of and would NOT have even attempted and could probably get these guys arrested.

6. Parker is trying to potty train. Key word is TRYING! I am just trying not to push it, let it be on his own timing. However, mommy is getting frustrated.

7. The Mavs lost last night. No more to say.

8. How come when people have brain surgery on TV they don't shave their head? Aren't we trying to be realistic? And really, must they also be wearing makeup!

9. Emaline is 2 inches longer than Parker was at 4 months. Watch out WNBA!

10. Our preacher has been doing an incredible series. This past Sunday was about families and praying for our children. Emaline was a little fussy, so I went to the cry room to get her to sleep so that my swaying and singing wouldn't bother anyone else around me since the sermon was starting. I opened the curtain to see Preacher and God took care of the rest. A great sermon. Now, living it...hold me to it.

11. Parker wants to be home. He is so funny. He just walked up to me as I am typing and told me he wanted to go home. Uh, we are home. I think it will upset him to know we have some errands to run. Oops, now he wants to go to the Ranch, and now he is referring to me as mom. Maybe he needs some attention. Must go and finish the other 2 later. Now it is the zoo. We may have a busy day.

12. Parker is into superheros. Not sure where he picked it up. It has been going on for about 3 weeks. His 'cape' from which he gains his power is quite interesting. It usually comes in the form of shoes or boots. My high heeled black sandals seems to bring the most powers, but currently it is the cowboy boots.

13. My sweet friend and her daughter have taught my son this song, that goes like this: yeah yeah (disco call) (disco call) yeah yeah (disco call) ( disco call) (something about Jesus). I can't figure out what he is saying at the end. He sings it all day long. It is too cute.

Have a good Thursday!

GO MAVS!

Friday night's game, (the game they lost) as a family we decided to all dress up in spirit of the Mav's. We looked cute if I say so myself as we walked to the Paul's for pregame dessert and they took our picture.(I had to bow Emaline since she was wearing one of Parker's Mavericks getups) We didn't dress up for last night's game and they won, so should we dress up for the next series?

We had a great time with Auntie last night. Thanks for coming to see us!

to think about...

On our way home from the ranch on Saturday I was puzzled why gas prices are $2.58 in Weatherford and $2.91 in Keller.

Last night while Parker and I were watering flowers I was more wet than the flowers, how did that happen?

Will the Mavs come through tonight? This has been a great series.

Auntie(Sweet Anne, my college roommate and friend) is coming to see us tonight and we are so excited!

Some Parkerisms:

"Stacey, come here now!" Yes this was said by Parker yesterday. Maybe I over use the word NOW.

"Happy birthday dear Jackson, Happy Birthday dear Mommy, Happy Birthday dear Parker!"
This is sung daily. It is his favorite song to sing.

"Mommy I don't want to go home, I want to go to Wakahachie!" Wakahachie is Parker's word for Waxahachie where his great grandmother and aunt live.

"Is sister stinky?" I don't think I need to explain this one.

"Parker's train, Parker's cookie, Parker's cup..." I think you get the picture. Everything belongs to Parker and he is having a tough time sharing.

"Nice day mommy, it's a nice day." Just makes your heart melt.

Yesterday Parker said the prayer for lunch all by himself. Before he has been coached along, but yesterday he decided that he would take the lead. The first few words were unrecognizable, but then he started to thank God for family members by name. Thank you God for Parker!

Parker's Friends

Over the week, Parker has had some great times with his friends. Thanks friends. Some things I learned: 2 year olds really don't like Twister and the box says age 6 for a reason, pillows are a lot of fun, and the slide does get hot! Malaya, next time take pictures when Parker comes over to play!

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all of you mothers. We had a great weekend celebrating with many of our 'mothers'. Friday night Stacey took me to Cheesecake Factory for mother's day and presented me with a beautiful necklace that matches a ring he had given me 2 years ago from James Avery. I also get to do a little shopping. Thanks babe~

Saturday morning we had our weekly together breakfast! So much fun. Then we started a yard project. That evening we went to MIL's house to celebrate with husbands family. It is so much fun having 4 generations together.

Sunday my mom and grandmother joined us for church and my sister joined us for lunch. We surprised my mom with lunch at an Indian food restaurant, again 4 generations together. My mom loves the food and hasn't been to eat it in over 3 years. I enjoyed making her smile.

Today has been crazy. Emaline has had 2 more bad diapers in the past week. Today we went to her urology specialist for them to bag her~ that is another post altogether. We just got home from 4 hours at the doctor's office. We all are whipped. I had Parker with me because my thought was we could go to the zoo after her quick 'bagging,' not so. He was such the trooper. 2 are asleep and I will be quickly joining them. I attached 2 of the pictures we gave as mother's day presents.

Zoo Fun with Honey

Tuesday was a fun day at the zoo with cousin Cassidie and Honey. It was extremely hot and the threat of storms kept everyone (except the hundreds of school kids on field trips) away. Emaline enjoyed the zoo too! Parker's favorite animal is still the elephant and Cassidie wanted to see the lion. They both held off on touching the lobster and the sting ray was resting so no touching there either. The train ride was fun and saved us many steps. If you haven't been to see the Dinoroars you need to go. It is fun to look for all of them. Thanks Honey and cousin Cassidie for going with us! Posted by Picasa

Remember..

We love going to Bop and Sid's house. We love going to Paris to see our family that we don't get to see very often. I was going through the pictures on the computer and came across some pictures that were too similar I had to share. The pictures were taken almost 1 year from each other. It is so fun to see how kids change.

Note: the far left middle picture is a signature pose for Parker. This was his SCARY face. He still does it to this day...which reminds me...I should photograph it before he stops doing it.

Best Husband in the WORLD!

I know, I know you think you have the best one...but just hear me out.

Sister has been going through this stuff. Ever since they put her on the sulfa antibiotic, she has been spitting up and having, well, let's just say it, diarrhea. The past week she has been extremely fussy. So much so, while I have been away 2 times this weekend, I was called to come home and console my child. Stacey was out of town this weekend to make it worse. Put a tornado warning on top of that and you have my weekend.

Yesterday, after missing my second meal due to having to leave the restaurant with my screaming child, we came home to put the kids to bed. I slumped down at my computer to check blogs, email, etc. That is when I heard it. The water running. My first thought: Stacey is cleaning off his shoes in the bath tub. Don't know why I had that thought, he has never washed his shoes off before. I sat at my computer in a daze, exhausted. That is when he tapped me on my shoulder and asked me what bath products I would like. Excuse me? Maybe he took the hint on our drive home from dinner last night while my child was exercising her lungs when I made the comment you could rock climb on my back! I go to get into the bath and there it was, where the inflatable shark usually is, the foam alphabet gone, my suds remained. He had even lit candles. He even went to the living room to watch ESPN so that he didn't disturb my sanity, and he started the laundry.

Thank you husband for the 30 minutes of quiet. Now, I must go treat my jeans. During our wonderful outing to the zoo, I was pooped on. Not by a bird, but by my daughter. We go see our urologist this week so MAYBE we can stop these crazy meds. I want my daughter back!
