400

Today, I am posting my 4ooth blog! Where has the time gone? I thought I would do something I have never done before....NEVER!

We have been busy, getting the nursery ready! We have been painting letters for the wall....the first initial....of the baby's name. I do have a letter for daddy to paint as well, and a few more I need to get busy on!

SO, we have always waited until after our baby was born before we shared the name...NOT THIS TIME!

BOWDEN OWEN PEARSON

Bowden is my maiden...and this is what we will call him.

Owen was Stacey's grandfather's name, Dad's middle, brother's middle...so this is the 4th generation....

There you have it. The name! He will be here in 4 weeks! 4 WEEKS! YIKES! I better get off this computer.....I have things to do!

We are back!

From a great trip to Paris! The kids got to play on Uncle Wyatt's road hog! Don't they look PRECIOUS?! Complete with Elvis glasses! We were stopping traffic on Lamar AVE, well, maybe that was because I was standing in the middle of it to take this picture!
We were happy daddy got to go with us this time. The past few times it has just been us 3, but we love it when daddy can come too! He even got to enjoy Taco Delight! I always rub it in when I eat there. We did some photoshoots while we were there, and had our 3rd annual '94 grad mini reunion! I will share some photos later, maybe will add them to this post later because my next post will be post #400! 400! Can you believe it? I think it will need to be a very special post...stay tuned!

Coming to an end

This has been a great year at preschool! I have taught with an amazing woman, who has taught me patience and was an excellent example of a christian wife and mother. I will miss her next year as she will be home with her new baby! This was from the program. E did great. Well, as great as a 2 year old does in a program. She was to sing 'if you are happy and you know it..' but she will even tell you:

I did not say AMEN or clap my hands...just stomp my feet! But this is how she sat most of the song!
I did get some photos of P, but there are lots of other kids around and I feel wierd posting it. Here is P playing toss the bean bag at his end of school year field day! Great form babe!
Here are my 2 yesterday. The last day of school. I put E in the same dress she wore on the first day of school. It was a little shorter than that day back in Septmeber...

Back to September....
She doesn't look like a baby any more!!!!!!!!

A fun day

On Saturday, I photographed the Great Strides Walk for Cystic Fybrosis for the second year. Here is one of the pictures I took. Since I don't have permission from the people in the photos, thisi s the one I chose to show....it was fun, but I must say this big ol' belly did slow me down! Thank you Stacey for helping me! After our walk, we headed over to see our sweet cousin Kanyon!

An old friend also came to visit Kanyon while we were there.
Sweet boy was so tired. I hope he got to sleep after we left.
This was my first time to hold this miracle. Can you tell I loved every minute of it!? Look closely what he is holding? My necklace, just like his mommy's. Look in the first picture of him on my blog....

WHY you don't take 2 kids to your OB/GYN Visit

This actually happened a few weeks ago, and I don't want to forget it, so I am sharing it.

It was the Monday after Easter and I had made plans with Uncle AZ, Elijah, La, and Isaiah and my 2 kids to go to the Aquarium in Dallas. I didn't have a baby sitter, and honestly, I thought it would be easier to have my kids with me so that I could just dash off to Dallas with the kids after the appointment. AND these appointments are quick! Right?

Well, I get to the appointment a little late. I sign in. I bring out the kids snacks and sippies, horse and doll. We sit there forever it seems. They finally call us back, which COMPLETELY threw Parker off when they called me Kathryn. I gather our items and to the back we go. As I enter the door and head to the dreaded scale, the nurse informs me that today is my glucose test! WHAT! No, today is NOT a good day. I weigh in, and head to the facilities to leave my deposit. Now, the kids go into the room with me. I threaten them with EVERYTHING to make them quiet so they don't announce through the thin door that mommy was going to go peepee in a cup. I do the deed, wash my hands, which makes E want to wash her hands...and off to the sonogram room we head. The nurse comes in and asks if I want to take the glucose test, this time I say, why not! I down that drink so fast, set my watch, and we sit there and read books as we wait for the doctor to come see us when Parker tells me he needs to go to the bathroom.No. He tells me he really has to go, and for all my long time readers: SHHEWWWEE. GREAT! I open the door to our room and see a toilet across the hall. Why have I not noticed that one before? I push him in and tell him I will be right outside the door, I didn't want to miss the doctor. As I begin to close the door, I notice this toilet is PRIVATE! Big sign on the door! I quickly tell P to pull his pants up and we will just have to wait, as he almost begins to cry, the receptionist catches my eye and tells me it is okay for him to use her private toilet. I shut the door and again tell him I will wait right outside. He informs me that he is done, so I open the door to find that Parker isn't feeling well, or at least that was the SMELL! I quickly pushed Emaline in the bathroom with us, and started searching under the sink of the private toilet for some airfreshner!!! I finally find something under the 100 rolls of toilet paper and generously spray the room like crazy. Back to the room, with Emaline asking if she can go potty IN A CUP! I just smile and quickly shut our door. The doctor finally makes his way in the room and the kids freeze. I tell them they can come stand by me and see the baby on the screen, they just stand up on the bench and lean, SAFE. The doctor finishes the exam, and off we go to the receptionist to make our next appointment. She tells me I can wait in the waiting room for an hour until they call me back for my blood work. NO. I inform her that I will take 2 suckers from the basket and wait downstairs in the lobby. She looks at me kind of weird and I tell her I have set my watch and I will be up when it is time...off we go.

The kids were good in the lobby, enjoying their suckers. Our time is getting close so we go back up to the office and go straight to the back of the room and get out our horse and doll. I look up to find that 2 or 3 women are kind of staring at me. Then one lady says: Mam, you didn't sign in. I tell her that I didn't need to since it was just blood work. She continued to encourage me to come back to the front and sign in and if I didn't then I would be waiting for along time. I thanked her, but didn't go sign in. Moments later..."Kathryn" comes for the door. I smile at the nice lady, gather my children, horse and doll and explain to Parker that Kathryn is my first name...again. This sweet lady takes us back to the blood taking room....which I DON'T do. If you have known me long, you know I am deathly scared of needles, blood, and even get faint in hospitals. If I have visited you in a hospital, please know that it took much strength to get me there! Anyway, I keep telling myself I will not pass out during the blood taking process in front of my children. I tell the kids to sit in the hallway and eat the LARGE baggie full of goldfish. The blood lady invites the kids in the room. I tell they are fine in the hallway, and she insists there is room for them to sit in the doorway. Great, right where I always look during the 'process' so that I can't see anything she is doing. During the process Emaline stands up and steps on the full bag of goldfish so Parker yells: OH SWEET MAMMA! The nurse looks at me and says: What did he just say? Here is the rest of the conversation:
N: what did he just say
Me: M'am do you have children?
N: No
Me: Then you probably haven't seen Snow Buddies, the movie. On the movie, there is a dog named Mud Bud who likes to say, OH SWEET MAMMA.
N: I thought that is what he said....but I wasn't sure

Now that I am totally embarrassed...and trying not to look at my arm...which was hurting and bleeding more than ever before, I grabbed the kids and pushed them towards the door. I got the kids in the car....and off to the aquarium we head....

Below are some photos I took this week of the kids...check out the photoblog to see more.....

AND if you are waiting on jumping on the Paris memorial day photoshoot, don't wait! I only have 1 more spot available...don't forget to email me if you are interested in the fall photoshoot!

Blisters on my heart

This is a phrase that Parker says when he is sad. I am not sure where he learned it...but I think it is kind of cute. He says this when he gets in trouble, or when Emaline is screaming, or he is just sad.

Taking a breath

Thank you for all of your encouragment, kind emails, text messages, and help! I couldn't do it without you and of course the strength from my heavenly father! Husband brought home dinner last night so I didn't have to cook, although it would have been a quick dinner. I feel good this morning, although I pulled a late night, I woke up to a sweet girl looking in my eyes at 7:30am!!! WHOOOHOOO! I got to sleep past 6:30am! ( If you don't count the charlie horse thing I had in my calf at 5:20 that sent me out of bed screaming and my husband thinking I was in labor) Then to hear daddy coming in the door asking to take the kids to the donut shop! ALONE TIME...GMA...in bed without DORA! I even got chocolate milk and some donuts in bed. YES! Today through Sunday will be extremely busy with the golf tournament and senior celebration at church plus I start going to the doctor every 2 weeks now. I am going to start pushing for a date for this life in me to make his appearance...E's scheduled c-section was only 4 days before her due date, and that didn't turn out well for me since I WENT INTO LABOR! I don't want that to happen again.

P and I have had some good herding of the animals this morning, and Emaline won't let me burp her babies because they are asleep. Fun times.

My grandmother is home from the hospital and doing well. She had a horrible reaction to a medication but is feeling much better.
