Happy Easter...again.

Well, I had a beautiful post written yesterday and was having difficulty posting my pictures so just left the blog up and kept trying to post pictures when we were hit with the rolling power shortage thing. Lost it. So today you get the not so beautiful written blog.

Easter was great. We went to Paris (of course, Texas). It was Emaline's first time there so we had to go to Bowden's and Taco Delight. Emaline found a pair of sunglasses she thought she looked fabulous in. I also did a miniphoto shoot with her in dad's backyard.

We went to see Mindy, my friend from high school, and her family. Parker and Dawson are 8 months apart, and the twins and Emaline are 3 months apart. Logan was asleep so Lauren is in the picture.

Easter Sunday, Parker wasn't all that into having his picture made in his outfit. But put beans on his face and pose away. Easter lunch was so much fun. Bop and Sid moved a table into the middle of their backyard and we ate outside under the east Texas trees. So Martha!

Emaline's testing went well yesterday...I guess well is a good word to use. She handled it better than I would have. We had great nurses at Cook's that took care of us. I know they were sent by prayers. We should hear something today, I hope.

OKAY OKAY. BLOGGER STILL HATES ME. I WILL POST PICTURES VIA PICASA AND YOU CAN FIGURE OUT WHICH PICTURES BELONG TO WHAT STORY!

here are the pictures

Cutest kids in the world! Parker loves his cowboy boots, and thinks they go with everything...Nope! I love the top picture of Emaline laughing. Parker playing with his trains amongst all the laundry. Take special note to how he has aligned his cars. He does this with his horses and cows too. I am wondering if it is a sign of what is to come. Posted by Picasa

Happy Good Friday

I haven't posted all week? You would think I had been busy...oh yeah, I have been.

Would you guys say a prayer today for Lainey Woods. She is an old neighbor from our days in Corinth, and is having a hip surgery today. Lainey is 5! SHOUT OUT TO YOU BABE!

I tried to post some pictures...I'll keep trying.

new pictures

Parker has a new game. It is called "HIDING." But, he really isn't hidden. These are the pictures from the game.

Some of his new sayings:
SURE Momma SURE
Come see Momma, Come see
Nice day
marshmallows

The last one may need some explaining. Marshmallows are his new favorite food, but he only gets them when he goes potty on the potty. Which, might I add is going well. He even went SHEWWEE on the potty, so he got a cupcake with marshmallow and sprinkles on top.

Emaline is being a trooper. I found another bad diaper today. Blisters?....I have called the doctor and am waiting for them to call me back. Waiting

no real news

So we went to the pediatric urologist today. We found out the blood in the diapers is probably blisters on the bladder bursting! OUCH! Not pleasant. We scheduled our big tests and our next appointment and that is it. I did find out that if Emaline does have this reflux bladder thing, that they will need to test Parker too. That reflux runs in siblings. I really wanted answers. We will keep on our antibiotics and continue to pray. Thanks friends. Thanks for everything. The prayers, the babysitting, the calls, the emails, the coke, and the gift card! What examples of Jesus you have been to me!

On a brighter note, my oldest friend Amanda turned 30 today! Happy birthday friend. Her husband created a blog for her as a surprise. www.amandaweeks30.blogspot.com

update

Yesterday, I received a call from the nurse at my doctor's office and said that everything from the tests looked normal and that we were on the right antibiotic. She then told me stuff...you know that stuff that contradicts what the doctor had told me the day before. I was worked up. I was confused. Stacey told me to call back. Nope. I will just internalize it and let it get the best of me. Then today, Emaline had another bloody diaper. I called. They needed to see us in the office. We went. Emaline was catheterized again. And the nurse was wrong. I should have called back just like Stacey said. We are now on our way to a Pediatric Urologist. Hopefully she can figure out what is going on with my little one.

The story

Friday morning, while changing Emaline's diaper for the first time since we woke up, I saw a pink line down the middle of her diaper. What is this? Blood of course. I called the doctor and had to leave a message. When they called me back I was at McDonald's and I told them I was real close to their office and I had the diaper with me. (if this ever happens to you, save the diaper!) They had me bring her in. One look at the diaper and our favorite Nurse Practioner jumped into motion. She told me that there could be a few different reasons why there was blood in the diaper, but we wouldn't have that conversation until we knew the cause. She asked me if I wanted to stay in the room while they did a catheter or would I like to take Parker out of room, since he is very protective of sister. I opted to stand out in the hall with Parker since I don't do well with things like that anyway. We went in the room when they finished and held that sweet girl. Moments later, Nurse Kami came in and then told me we needed to have a conversation. She had an infection. WHAT? She gave me the run down and told me we would have a long day. Which we did. Next we needed to go have a blood culture (forgive all of my misspellings of all this medical stuff), and then come back to the office for an antibiotic shot. We needed to fill a prescription for a 10 day antibiotic. Husband met me to pick up Parker and go get the medicine. I went to have the blood thing done. Have you ever held down a 2 month old against her will while someone put a needle in her arm and warns you that if she moves any she will need to do it again? I kept telling myself not to pass out. I focused on Emaline's eyes. I made it through it and so did she, like a champ. I have asked lots of questions. The doctor has even called me for the past 2 days to check on her and to see if I have had any questions. I LOVE OUR DOCTORS! Emaline hasn't spiked any fever, Praise GOD! We did receive the news that the infection isn't in her blood, which is a good thing. We get the results of the blood culture tomorrow morning, and I will post more then. From what I understand, after that we begin a series of tests at Cook's. Thank you all for your prayers and thoughts. Keep praying us through this difficult stressful time.

Please PRAY

Could you please say a prayer for my sweet Emaline? My little girl is sick. She has a urinary tract infection, and for a 2 month old that is a big deal. We have to get the infection cleared up and then we will start a series of test to find the cause. Today she has been cathetered, blood cultured, and given a shot. We have to watch her carefully this weekend to make sure she doesn't spike a fever. If she does, straight to Cook's. Too tired to give the whole story, another day.

God the almighty physician... Please God take away her pain and clear up the infection. Let her rest. Allow the medicine to work and let us have a smooth weekend. Be with her doctors and give them wisdom. Give us patience as the next few weeks will involve series of tests. Protect her Lord.....

just a blog

Today is just a blah day where there is so much to do around the house. Both kids are now asleep and I have have so much to do...but I am blogging. Isn't that funny? I took some pictures off of the camera and wanted to share them with my blog friends. Busy around here. Parker is making sentences like crazy and is infactuated with is cows and horses (whom he tried to nurse last week, another blog another day), Emaline has been sleeping through the night for over a week now. I guess big babies have their perks (14.4 lbs at 2 months). The pink dress is one from 'NISE, per Parker. I love the one where she looks like she is jumping. Almost every morning when Parker wakes up, he asks where "ILINE" is. He then crawls right up beside her and tells her good morning. This is one of those mornings. Sorry that she looks like a deer in headlights. I just like the picture.

Where's CORN?

When your son asks, "Mama, where's corn?" you really should be suspicious. Setting the scene: lunch time yesterday, Parker still wearing his red flannel zip up pjs, sitting at table finishing his veggies, mama at kitchen sink, washing dishes. Parker asked me over and over where the corn was, I told him on his plate (I should have turned around), then he would say, "Pajamas." I explained that yes, he was still wearing his pjs. Finally, I turned around. The plate was clean, the table was vegetable spill over clean. I walked over to him where he was beginning to unzip his pajamas. He reached his hand in and pulled out a pea, then a piece of corn, then I unzipped his pajamas and found the rest of the mixed vegetable medley! All the way down to his toes. We laughed and laughed. I just hope he doesn't try jell-o!

Happy Birthday

On Friday Emaline celebrated her 2 month birthday! I can't believe it has been that long. It seems like just yesterday I was eating Mammy's fried chicken and went into labor! This past week has been crazy. Stacey went out of town for his thirtieth birthday with his dad and BIL. They went to Arizona to Rangers spring training and to golf. I wasn't going to take on the kids all week by myself, so I headed to Waxahachie for some help. Mammy and Aunt Dee were wonderful. From the moment we drove up we were met with Meatloaf, carrots, potatoes, green beans, and of course, banana pudding. I was able to sleep late every morning to wake up to frying bacon, and had lots of extra hands during the day. Saturday we were able to celebrate with Parker's friend Ethan on his 2nd birthday, and then I was able to celebrate love at a wedding shower for my friend Jeff, and STACEY came home. YEAH DADDY! We are all glad you are home. Some pictures from Waxahachie and Emaline's birthday...

Oh yeah, Emaline slept from 11:30- 7:30 last night!!!!YEAH ME!

My son the Zoo Keeper!

It was a warm day at the zoo on Friday, but beautiful. Of course Parker wanted to visit his favorite animals...the elephant. Off we went. He assumed his Elephant watching position (see below picture from last weeks post)...
and as I looked on to watch a baby elephant playing in the water, my son was balancing on the top bar of the fence horizontally on his stomach, then proceeded to fall over head first into the holly bushes. As quick as I could get him (injuring my knuckle in the process) I began to pull my son back to safety. Parker didn't cry, nor seemed scared. He climbed back up to his watching station in awe of God's creation. I, however, kept thinking security would be by soon to ask us to leave. Good times.

Some recent pictures...

Parker woke up last night at 1:00 am by getting sick. He threw up.Couldn't tell from the pictures above! No temperature. Acts just fine. This morning he woke up in a great humor. He had a gross diaper, but is still acting just like his old self. I guess he didn't like my dinner last night! These pictures are some of my new favorites. Parker as a cowboy thanks to MIL and FIL for his birthday, and this outfit is the one husband picked out for Emaline the day we found out we were having a girl.

Boy am I behind!

We had a great birthday for Stacey! I cooked homemade chicken and dumplings on Thursday night and made his favorite cake for dinner. On Friday we met him for lunch, then for dinner I surprised him. The babysitter (thanks Nana) arrived and off I went to meet Stacey at a parking lot. He had no idea what the plan was, so I brought him pants to change into from his jeans. I made him change in the parking lot (sorry if you saw us at JoAnns in Grapevine, but it makes more drama). I told him he must hurry we were late and have a ways to drive. Nope. Just across the street. After dinner we went to a movie! We couldn't even remember the last time we had seen a movie together. If you haven't seen Pink Panther you should. It will make you laugh.

Saturday Stacey took Parker to the Ranch to ride horses. A day to myself..well almost, Emaline slept a lot. We went to eat with Stacey's family at Buca di Beppo for dinner then to MIL's house for cake.

Sunday, Stacey and I were give Maverick tickets for our birthday! If you know us, you know we are MFFL (Mav's fans for life). Giving up our season tickets was so hard, but a necessity for me to stay home. We took our attire to change(yes we wear Mav's shirts) at church then head to ADD area for lunch and MIL and FIL took the kids home with them. We decided on TruLucks to eat in downtown. We had a great surprise to run into a very special family from our old church Preston Road. In fact, they were the host on Wednesday nights were Stacey and I started dating. They were so generous then and now! Yep, they picked up our check without us even knowing it! The game was exciting, although we must have jinxed them since they lost their home winning streak! We even saw some old ACU friends at the game. Thanks BOP and SID for the tickets.

Some kid news. Parker used the Swiffer duster to cheer up Emaline the other night by tickling her. I now know she will have allergies! He was so proud of himself. Emaline is really trying to hold up her head and is sleeping like a princess. She has even gone 6.5 hours!

Tonight we are starting our Tuesday night bible study again. I sure have missed it. See you tonight girls to be CAPTIVATED!

Happy Birthday DADDY!

Happy 30th birthday Husband and Daddy! God created a heart 30 years (+9 months) ago today that is loving, generous, fun, sensitive, and meant for us! I love how God uses you to talk to others, even if that is not my gift and makes us the last one of the church building or restaurant. You are so bold, and we love you for that. I can't wait to spend the next 30+ years with ya babe! Happy Birthday from your fan club!

Amazing

I know you all have heard about this or seen it on the news. I have, but saw this on a blog today and thought I would share with my readers. I cry every time I see the video of Jason McElwain's peers cheering him on. Be sure to watch the video. God is good!
