Mamma
We pronounce M(short vowel e) Maw, not Mamma, like mommy. My grandmother lives in Denton. We like to go visit her when we can. I needed to run an errand in Carrolton/Coppell, so we canned Mamma and asked if we could take her to lunch. She agreed, and off we went.
We went to the place we always go... Cracker Barrel. She always buys the kids candy on the way out.
On the way there, B fell asleep eating a donut, AFTER he had already wet through his pants. WE ended up running to their new Wal-mart to get him a whole new outfit. Side note on that experience. When Emaline tells you to guide her because she is going to hold your hand and close her eyes, LISTEN. I ran her straight INTO MY CAR! Luckily she didn't break her nose, but the sound was horrific! Sorry girl!
Pre White ROCK breakdown. Great title.
I apologize for the blog absence. I haven't felt like it. I will post a few new pictures soon. Today has been a tough day. I felt it coming. It isn't an anniversary, although 9 months have passed. I miss my friend. Total breakdown for me today. It started like this:
I was looking through my blog to find the first reference I made to Jenny about us running together after she got out of the hospital. I talked to her about it on February 4th, when she first went into the hospital. I told her I had gotten new shoes and she HAD to get out of that bed so we could run together with our husbands in these races they had signed up for. I knew I had done that, but I knew I had referenced our running in a few of my peptalks to her on facebook so I wanted to blog about this journey. Oh, you don't remember which ones I am referring... here is a link. So, as I started looking through the different posts and it took me back to February. To the smells, to the thoughts, even the clothes I had on that day I ran into the hospital after a crazy call from David telling me to get up there. I began to BOOHOO. And I mean, lose it! Emaline even walked in and asked me what was wrong. My response, I MISS JENNY! I cry even typing it. I miss her so. This weekend I will run the White Rock Half Marathon. I will run for her. Today, as I started to get anxious about the race and what to wear and what I should add to my ipod and what time will go to the expo and what time we should leave for the race.... I so wanted to call her. I wanted me to make her laugh about some funny comment about what I THINK we should wear. I knew just what to say to make her laugh. I want to hear her giggle. I want her running beside me. NOT IN SPIRIT PEOPLE, but really, beside me! That was the plan. (okay, Emaline just walked in the kitchen, looked at me, and said: your STILL crying?) So, the longest I thought I would even run was a 5k. That was my goal. My goal this weekend is to finish 13.1 miles! Through all of your prayers, all of your encouragement, and my friend, cheering me on, with Christ on my side, I will FINISH!
This crash of my emotions... I found this comment on another blog again that Jenny left for me in 2005.
I am so sorry you are hurting! But you are soo right, God does so much work through our pain. I don't understand and never will but it is truth. He knows what places to take us and how to take us there to get our utmost attention. God WILL use you! Your example will be His witness. I am praying for your perseverence and your focus and for Satan to keep his lousy rear out of your business:)
AND, one last, ARE YOU STILL CRYING from Emaline. I love her.

Texarkana

The girls became quick friends. Emaline taught her the TEXAS STAR song she had learned at BSF. So cute. I loved my time with Jami. Just wish we could get together more than twice a year! I SOOOOO look forward to our time.My sweet cousins drove up from Clarksville to give us hugs at church! LOVE THEM!

Some random Fun ones!
I haven't been a good blogger. I am sorry. I'll work on it. Although my readers have dropped considerably, and I am okay with that. This blog is for me anyway, right? To publish SOMEDAY and have an actual scrapbook that is somewhat completed. So, here are some things I don't want to forget, or maybe I do...
We made these cute turkeys for Stacey to take to his Thanksgiving with his family. They moved their family Thanksgiving from Thursday to Saturday and I had already made plans to go out of town, so I got everything ready for him. I panicked because I couldn't find candy corn! These tails were suppose to have candy corn. Instead, I used Mike and Ikes. We set up an assembly line and the kids ROCKED this project.
I volunteered to bring homemade yeast rolls for Stacey's immediate family Thanksgiving ON Thursday, so after many emails with cousins, and a lot of advise from those same sweet cousins whose mother and grandmother was a rock star when it came to rolls....I got my roll on.

We did have one almost catastrophe, I thought to myself as I began this yeast process... does baking powder expire.... uh, YES! Check out the cans! 2002 and 2000! NO WONDER my cinnamon rolls don't look like Ree's! Geesh. Stacey ran out to get me some good baking powder, and I was good to go!
The kids and I went to Paris for a day or so before Thanksgiving so I could do a photoshoot or 2. On our way, we got behind this truck. It slowed us down, and the kids got good laughs as we came up with funny stuff about it. A great memory I don't want to forget. (Disclaimer: I was driving really safe while taking photo :)!)

On our way home form Paris, we stopped at Garden Ridge to look at Christmas trees. Ours was 10 years old and was originally a pre-lit, but it was SELF lit the past few years! BUMMER for me. ANd we needed a taller tree since our first tree had to fit in our 1950's home with low ceilings. I took pictures of the trees the right height with Parker in front of them so that Stacey could see the diameter. This one was too skinny, but I thought I would include the picture.
Bowden actually went to sleep sucking on a Sonic straw. Again, very safe driving.

The Christmas Tree
Mentioned earlier that we got a new BIGGER tree this year....the kids helped me decorate it. I really didn't enjoy it. I'll be honest with you 2 readers. I have always taken JOY from unwrapping each ornament, remembering when we got it and even remembering the years I have put it on the tree. This year I had to explain that to the kids. That these ARE NOT toys, they are my fancy jewelry, if I had any. They are my treasure. Oh well. TO MY KNOWLEDGE, nothing broke.
